Salwa Owens is a fashion designer and entrepreneur with a keen eye for timeless, yet modern, style and a passion for empowering women. She is a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, where she studied fashion design, The University of Georgia where she earned her BBA in International Business, and the Institute de Tourraine in Tours, France, where she studied her third language, French (Owens is also fluent in Spanish). Her brand, like her, encompasses the perfect blend of business and fashion with a cosmopolitan flair.
Mission Statement | Salwa Owens has built her brand with the mission statement, “to empower women through the joy of fashion” as its driving force. An advocate for women having their own identities outside of their homes, Owens has set that into practice by building her business in the midst of having three small children and also being a stay-at-home mom.
Fashion Designer | Salwa Owens has grown her clothing label to incorporate a ready-to-wear line made in Los Angeles, an evening wear line intricately hand made in India, as well as a custom-made studio where she works one-on-one with women creating looks for special occasions.
Editor | Salwa Owens is the creator and editor of The SO Edit. "The SO Edit" features original, curated, and contributor content, as well as shop-able content, all curated by Owens. “The SO Edit” was created by Owens to inspire, support, and uplift women through content that cover their well-being from the inside out.
